"I'm Gonna Pop Some Tags..."

Holy Chanel!  I found some amazing designer duds in this heaping pile of awesomeness...the best part?  Cost me less than $20!!!

"Recycle, re-use, reduce"...we're all pretty familiar with this concept.  Most of the time its when we separate our plastic, glass, and paper products.  However, this concept has been gaining popularity in the garment industry, and it's turning into a cult craze.

There are many great second-hand and vintage shops within the Greater Los Angeles Area but some of my most favorites are in Long Beach.  These shots were taken as we perused 4th street's many vintage and second-hand boutiques...of course after grabbing an awesome latte at Portfolios coffeehouse.
My friend and photographer of these images (Priscilla) did a nice job of capturing my utter and sheer excitement!

This movement is so popular that the awesome Macklemore made a snazzy video about it:

In "Luu" of Chan: DTLA

I decided to take a (not so) little stroll down to the showrooms of LA's Fashion District and pay my old friend Chan Luu a visit.

Chan Luu has added some amazing pieces to their new collection!  They've
definitely branched out from their early days as a high end accessories brand.

From bedazzled gypsy skirts to blingin' bustiers, I was smitten with their flirtatious new clothing pieces that kept true to the sparkle and elegance that is Chan Luu.

Chan Luu is definitely making a giant blip on my style radar this season and should on yours too!!!

Coachella of the Future

Coachella 2013

With the highly publicized appearance of the Tupac hologram at this year's Coachella festival we begged the question:  What if we created a festival where all of our past musical favorites were resurrected?

LA Fashion District: Cinema

220 E. 9th st. Downtown Los Angeles
This place is dope.  Tons of funky and stylish apparel and accessories to be had!

Cinema is located right down the street from the CMC (California Market Center) and LA New Mart buildings which house premier LA designer offices and showrooms.  There is plenty for every style and it's right next to a really sick vintage shop as well.

Check it out if you have the time.

Personal Styling with Amanda

Amanda wanted to use more color in her wardrobe this
season, so we made sure not to shy away from it.
Sequined flats are a great way to dress up a casual look
A denim button up is a must-have piece.  It's great with
other colors, patterns, and easy to wear.  She was an
instant fan!
Why not a fab fur vest to "eff" it up a little?...
We managed to find something that would transition well
between day to night.  There's use of color, silhouettes that
compliment her figure, and a hint of accessories.

A West Coast Winter...Well Kind Of

I found this photo taken last year at Lake Tahoe...where did the winter go?  California has been warmer than normal, and I was really looking forward to multiple layers, high-socks, boots, and scarves.  I guess we'll just have to wait til next season... :(

Grunge Princess

Feeling a bit rebellious? Show it in your style! Here is a great way to rock the grunge look by yours truly...
The first key ingredients to a great grunge look are destroyed denim and flannel. Roll the bottom of your jean leg up to show off your biker or vintage boots and wrap a nice bright flannel as a styling piece.
Now for the tee:...You don't have to buy a muscle tee like mine from UNIF. You can use any shirt, cut off the sleeves and rip little tears in it. My favorite tip is to go to a second-hand or vintage store and grab a shirt for your muscle tee look. If getting a plain tee, my advice is to create a stencil of the name of any 90's band you like and spray paint it on to the tee. If getting a vintage rocker tee, just simply cut the sleeves off. You can embellish the collar or cut the arm holes a little low and rock a bright or blinged-out bra underneath.
The last step is adding a bold lip and some light accessories (preferably chunky rings and aviators) to add a feminine touch! Cheers!

A Hunger Cure:

If I had to choose a song and video to represent me now, this would be it!  It oozes style and sex!!!

California Dreamin'

my sister Donna and I at Manhattan Beach Pier
It's great to be back in Los Angeles after living in Sydney for almost a year.  Couldn't believe the amazing weather, so I was inspired to rock an all Sass & Bide outfit (including tusk necklace).  It's alright to wear color in winter, especially with weather like this in Manhattan Beach! xx

Bliss...
